Peter married Mary "Catherine" Cahill1. Born abt 1840. Mary "Catherine" died in 1888; she was 48. Born in ~1837.

On 19 Feb 1871 when James was 28, he married Catherine E. Smith1, daughter of Edward Smith (~1819-) & Catherine Farrell (~1819-), in Brooklyn, Long Island NY. Born ca 1849 in Liverpool, England. Catherine E. died in Brooklyn, Long Island NY on 26 Jan 1930; she was 81.2 Buried in 1930 in Brooklyn, Long Island NY.2
